Today I spoke to Chris Chapman, a Founder and Director alongside Liam Miller here at Eclectic Recruitment.
What is your biggest inspiration?
“I would say my biggest inspiration is my grandad; he was a role model for me and drove me to do my best, he always holds me accountable.”
Why did you decide to start a business?
“I’ve worked in the recruitment industry for a little while, and over time I’ve built up my own ideas about how to achieve success. When I worked under other companies I felt restricted. Starting up Eclectic Recruitment with Liam has allowed me to take what I know from my experiences to create a business with a modern approach to recruitment.”
Describe yourself in 3 words.
“Driven, silly, and passionate.”
What is your favourite part of what you do?
“I love placing someone who is full of potential and just starting their career. It’s extremely rewarding to see someone start at their placement, see them make progress and then grow into a senior position. I feel as though I have made a real impact in somebody’s career.”
What motivates you?
“Positive feedback from our candidates, whether we find them a placement or not, is a huge motivator; I want to give a memorable, friendly experience that puts Eclectic on the map.”
What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about recruitment agencies?
“Unfortunately, many people assume from experience with some agencies that they all operate the same, which is not true. There are fantastic agencies out there who are committed to giving a custom experience to you, and I think It’s important to be selective with what agency you use.”
What’s something that you strive to achieve in what you do?
“I want our ideas about how recruitment works best to be at the core of what we do, and I feel strongly that working with what we know are the best companies can ensure fantastic results for our candidates.”
What is the most exciting thing you are planning for Eclectic in the near future?
“I am very excited about growing Eclectic, we are planning on opening more offices over the next 12 to 24 months, in order to extend our reach so that we can help more people. Continuing to help change people’s careers and possibly lives for the better is the most exciting and fulfilling thing I experience.”
